So this one was a pretty big deal. Nice N Sleazy’s is a fairly legendary venue & bar in Glasgow. I’ve been to (and even played once upon a time) many many great gigs in here. Just now they are in the midst of their 20th birthday celebrations and they have been pulling out all the stops with a pretty epic line-up of shows.
Last night was a ‘secret’ show, only revealed as Arab Strap headlining a few days before, with an e-mail ticket system that left many, many people (myself included initially) gutted at missing out. The 120 capacity venue was rammed to see RM Hubbert & Twilight Sad support Arab Strap, the Falkirk band that disbanded 5 years ago, for a one-off reunion.
I never saw them back in the day so it was an extra special night filled with moments that won’t be quickly forgotten, particularly the finale of ‘The First Big Weekend’ which had the entire room at full voice.
